Only fitting winter tyres on the drive axle is not sufficient for good performance and optimal safety in the winter. If winter tyres are only fitted on the front axle, performance is improved during acceleration. But the vehicle gets out of balance sooner, and will then turn on its axis. It is therefore important to fit 4 winter tyres to the vehicle. For vehicles with four-wheel drive, it is of course an absolute must to fit winter tyres in sets of 4.
